Full Description

Dovecote suggested by field name (plot 71) `Dovehouse Ley' (S1). The dovecote was probably at the adjoining farm, Moorhouse Farm, named Moors in 1783 (S2). Mores was a sub-manor of Boxted owned by William Cressener in C15, by Richard Poley in 1542 (absorbed by main manor), by Lady Blundell in 1798 and by the Marchioness of Devonshire in 1827 (S3).
