Full Description

Site of gamekeepers lodge, shown on OS 1st edition map (1837)(S1), on Hodskinson's tithe map (1840)(S2), and on C17 map included in Deben Valley place names study (S3). Possibly shown on 1631 rental (see S3). John Nunn was tenant from 1631-1638 and the holding amounted to 34 acres (S3). In 1803 gardens were changed to a foreign deer enclosure (S3). Adjacent field names (66 - Lodge pightle; 67 - Lodge meadow; 72 - Great Lodge field; 74 Little Lodge field; 82 Lodge field) suggest the existence of the Lodge (S2).
The house had gone by 1904 (not shown on OS map 1:2500 second edition, 1904. The site is now in the field called The New Park (276 on tithe).
