Full Description

1996: Metal detected finds of bronze heraldic shield-shaped stud. Bears 3 gilded lions passant on red enamelled background. Arms are those of the Holland family, Dukes of Exeter. Granted by Richard II to his half-brother, John Holland, circa 1387. John was beheaded in 1400. Further family details and sketch in (S1).
Also bronze (Med?) finger ring fragment bronze mount (?date) - details in file (S1).
