Full Description

Ancient woodland as defined in (S1). For details of history and earthwork see (S1), the Suffolk Wildlife Trust, English Nature and the County Council Countryside Section (Peter Holborn and Geoff Sinclair) and various Oliver Rackham works including (S2).

Former mill is suggested on the BSG tithe map by the field name ' Mill Field Wood' (plot 239) - part of ancient woodland, may relate to former mill in Hersett or Bradfield St George (S3).
