Full Description
Sawyers Road. Ancient road, now surviving mainly as private trackway between cited NGRs. Modern reservoir cuts E end. At E end goes through Appletree Wood (COL 017). Probably originally extended further E to join existing public highway at Stantons Farm. Led to Sawyers Tye & Sawyers, a C14 II star listed building. Documentary evidence apparently suggests road fell into disrepair in C16. Lined by hedges with high (14?) species count (S1). Documentary search needed to verify & clarify details.
