Full Description

Stone carving of LSax /Norman date bearing a figure. Found in cavity in reconstruction work at former West Suffolk Hospital in 1952 after a fire in 1949. Former West Suffolk Hospital site was converted from a military magazine constructed in c.1825. Stone is 2.5ft by 8 ins. Further details and photograph in (S1). Now in Bury St Edmunds Moyses Hall Museum(?).
