Full Description

October 2000: WB revealed a layer of large flints, possibly a dump of building material, within the topsoil. Medieval pottery and Roman ceramic building material found in association with the flints (S1). Within area of SAM - see CLA 008.
2009: moitoring prior to instalation of play equipment revealed not archaeolgical features or finds (S2).
2010:An archaeological monitoring was carried out during the installation of a new item of play equipment within the bounds of Clare Castle Country Park, Clare. No finds or features of archaeological relevance were observed, and the stratigraphy exposed consisted solely of a mixed topsoil deposit (S3).
