Full Description

Monitoring revealed a well preserved Iron Age site. The evidence suggests that the Communications Buildings are on the northern edge of the site which is focused somewhere further to the south of this development. Landscaping in the immediate area has further buried the archaeological levels and has meant that the site stratigraphy is complete and the Iron Age surface occupation deposits survive intact (S1,S3).
Assessment of the potential for the analysis and publication of the archaeologicial finds at RAF Lakenheath (S2).

Included in the Proceedings of the Suffolk Institute of Archaeology and History annual round up of individual finds and discoveries for 2001 (S4).
