Full Description
Approximate location of Babergh double hundred suggested by place name and circumstantial evidence( S1)(S2). Babergh Hall, of C17/C18 (replacing earlier?) located at TL 903 445 and Babergh Place (at TL 907 442) are sited either side of a ring ditch (WFG 007) suggested as the remnant of the meeting mound (S1)(S4). They are situated on the NE edge of 'Babergh Heath' (S3). Recorded as Babenberga & Baberga in 1086 (R1).
