Full Description
Coin hoard of nearly 400 silver pennies, deposited 1280 (-1351?) (S1)(R1-R2). Found by some labourers when sinking a well. An earthen jar containing 400 silver coins, mainly King Edward I and II and struck at London, York and Dublin. They were carried to Sir Thomas Gooch, Lord of the Manor. Labourers were rewarded handsomely - found on Tuesday, 3 November 1767 (S2).
