Full Description

1st November 1611: Lease for 4 years by Sir Edward Coke, Lord Chief Justice, to Robert Goodwyn, Salt finer of "The killhouse [kilnhouse] tenement with appurtenances in Wherstead parish, the herbage growing on a salt marsh in Wherstead with a right of way to the Dame and a pightle in Stoke by Ipswich parish" S1. Suggests a kiln associated with salt working in Wherstead (S2). Precise location unknown.
