Full Description
Site of small post mill with roundhouse, converted into house in late 1930s by the composer Benjamin Britten.
The postmill was built in 1668. It was demolished in July 1933 and the roundhouse subsequently converted. There were origianally four patent sails, two pairs of stones in the head and a fantail (S1).
Shown on OS map of 1837 & 1880s (later maps not checked) but not on Hodskinson's 1783 map.
