Full Description
'Snape Warren & 'Warren House' (now New England Farm, at TM 40605787) named on OS 1880s map - possible rabbit warren site. Appears to be Post Medieval in date as marked as Black Heath on 1837 OS map and Warren House not then shown. Also known to be location of Snape Racecourse (see SNP Misc) in 18th century.
For possible location of Medieval Warren see SNP 026.
Also note parallel banks (resembling Breckland rabbit warren banks) identified (& defining) west side of warren - see SNP 094.
Also various banks (field boundaries?) within area - see SNP 055.
Area only looselyvmapped in HER after 1880s OS mapping..
