2006: An excavation, following an evaluation in 2005, revealed further evidence of a phase of Roman activity, consisting of a series of ditches and scattered rubbish pits. The remnants of a disturbed, undated human burial were also recovered and a post-medieval structure more fully investigated. The excavation also confirmed the absence of any activity relating to the medieval chapel of St John the Baptist that is believed to lie in the vicinity.
