Evaluation prior to the creation of fishing lakes identified peat deposits, in some places 2m thick formed prior to the 14th century, demonstrated by medieval horseshoe found in a sealing deposit (S1).

Included in the Proceedings of the Suffolk Institute of Archaeology and History annual round up of individual finds and discoveries for 2005 (S2).
