Full Description
Small gilded bronze figurine - torso with arms held diagonally in front of body, with 'skirt' and plaited hair (or hood) and 2 small circular breast roundels. Female?
Presumably metal detected. Said to have been found in Halesworth (no location given), in hands of 'a well-known Norfolk dealer'. Photographer said it was definitely no more than 1.25 inches long (at the time he noted it as only 1 inch). Info and image forwarded by Andrew Rogerson (S1).
Other comparable examples from Carlton Colville (CAC Misc, MSF21930), Tuddenham St Martin (TDM 023 horned, with continental parallels), Friston (FRS Misc), Near Sudbury (SUY Misc), 'River Deben' (SUF Misc) & Suffolk (SUF Misc - very similar).
Formerly recorded as HWT MISC
