Full Description
Row of 7 pillboxes following the course of the River Lark, constructed in June-Sep 1940.
The defence area lies in the floodplain of the River Lark. A type 28 anti-tank gun emplacement (WGN 042), with surviving holdfast for a 8 pdr anti-tank gun, stands just south-east of Judes Ferry bridge. A further pillbox stands closer to the bridge (WGN 019). A more unusual type 24 variant stands on the south bank (FRK 098). All other boxes in the area are standard type 24's (WGN 043, WGN 044, WGN 045 and FRK 099) (S1).
