Full Description

Site of a circular moat, almost certainly a moated mill mound, as depicted on the Tithe Map Tannington 1842, which appears to have been destroyed before the 1880s and was no longer visible in 1977. A vague circular cropmark visible has been recorded on OS APs (S1).
June 2011: extremely good cropmarks show diameter of circa 50m (external), broad entrance to S, expanding link to watercourse to east plus field boundaries to south and trackway to west (see TNN 016)(S2).
Mapping revised February 2012 (CP).
