Full Description

Hexagonal WWI pillbox, guarding a bridge over the Hundred River.
Near Rushmere, N of 'The Grange' An hexagonal pillbox [type 22], a little larger than that at TM 491868 and with smaller embrasures. There is a pronounced lean to the SE. The entrance is not visible from road. There are small objects on the roof above each embrasure. These may represent anchorage points for a camouflage scheme. The raised features over each embrasure suggests a WW1 pillbox [?] (S2).

Has Rushmere HER code, but NGR is just in Henstead with Hulver Street parish.
