Full Description
Culford Lodge Farm was used during Tank and Battle training on Elveden estate. A specially built rail spur (with central loading ramp for tanks) terminal was built near Culford Lodge Farm in the twin tracked 'Government siding'. Details in (S1).
Precise location unclear but a broadening of the line of the track at the cited NGR (and to its NW) showing on a 1945/6 RAF AP would be large enough for such a spur/siding. Site BNH 063 at Little Heath, Barnham is another strong candidate though it is near North Farm and Triangle Cottages and some distance further N of Culford Lodge Farm (it is noteworthy that Campbell (S1) doesn't actually refer to the Little Heath site at Barnham so it is possible these are one and the same site).
