Full Description
Recorded in gazetteer of significant Industrial Archaeological sites extracted from a 1980 booklet entitled 'Industrial Archaeology in and around Norfolk' and revised as 'Suffolk IA Sites in 1980' in Suffolk Industrial Archaeological Society Newsletter (SIAS Newsletter, 115, Nov 2011) where it is described as:
Horsehair manufactories [2]. Well-lit workshops still standing from the days in the 19th C when horsehair weaving was the town's main activity (S1).
Cited location Barn St TL917492, HBSMR mapping revised to match actual mapped position (Feb 2013).
Original building survives (LB Gd II, S of 'The Old Grammer School' (LB)).
