Full Description
NW corner of garden of Brook Farm barn; now converted to a dwelling. No trace of this pillbox remains. It was removed when the barn was converted to a dwelling in the 1980s.
October 2019. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
A Second World War pillbox is seen as a structure (which has subsequently been removed) on aerial photographs (S2-S3). The pill box seems to be hexagonal in form and can be seen as a structure form the 1940s until the 1970s after which it is presumed to be removed. A previous survey (see above) suggests that the pillbox was removed due to a barn conversion in the 1980s. The pillbox was most likely part of a Second World War defensive line along the River Lark and is in close proximity to further pillboxes to the east (LKD 062) and west (LKD 060).
