Full Description
In Sudbury Meadows, on the W bank and on a bend of the River Stour, some 400m NNW of 'Mill Hotel', Sudbury.[with site location map on one SRF]. Hexagonal pillbox, facing E. Creep-through entrance (S1).
A modified Type 27 with central anti-aircraft well but with walls only 15 inches thick – this is one of the few pillboxes in the area with walls thick enough to withstand only small arms fire (S2).
Part of defence works associated with the Colne - Mildenhall stopline (S3).
