Full Description

Field 185 on the Whitton cum Thurleston 1840 Tithe Map was called Chapel Field, and may have been the site of a chapel dedicated to St. Thomas (evidence for which is noted for Whitton in C. Morley 'Medieval History of Suffolk' HD603/2 in SRO). No chapel building is shown on the 1840 Tithe Map or on any later OS maps. See S1.
