Full Description
Several ponds that may have been the remains of moats around High House Farm (circa 16th cent. Grade II Listed Building). These are a large pond to the SW of the main building, a second possible pond to the NE (no longer extant), and an L-shaped moat to the east of the farmhouse (no longer extant). Only the SW pond is still in existence, the L-shaped moat seen up to the 1920's on OS maps, but appearing to have been back filled by the 1970's.
The extent and shape of the moats is largely conjectural and requires further study.
