Full Description

Area of partially surviving historic landscape - Church Field. S of Church Croft (COK 078). Western boundary not entirely clear but assumed to be road line on HBSMR mapping.
Acreware land, suggesting early (suggested to be Saxon) tenure of farmland including 'sackage' land - (giving grazing rights) and 'campo' names. Defined by local historian Vera Lloyd using various early maps, field names and other documents (her map is held in large hanging cabinet) (S1).
All of the internal field boundaries have now gone.
