Full Description
Four gun emplacements and an associated building are visible on 1944 aerial photograph (S1). Appear to be in very similar condition today.
The emplacements are in a semi-circle to the east of an associated building, approx 27m apart, and are linked to a road to the north by a track. possibly a late World War II heavy anti-aircraft artillery emplacement.
Not examined on the ground but appears to be in a remarkedly good state of preservation - worthy of scheduling?
Remains of a Second World War heavy anti aircraft battery near Manor Farm, Lound. It was armed with four 3.7-inch static guns with GL Mark II radar in 1942, when it was manned by 332 Battery of the 106th Royal Artillery Regiment, and was retained as an Off-Site Nucleus Force Battery in 1946. OS Mastermap shows the ruins of the command post and the four gun emplacements (S2)
