Full Description

19th century corn mill and adjacent buildings. The mill is visible on the first edition Ordnance Survey (S1). Mill has since been destroyed. Large five-storey smock mill with two-storey base, built in 1835. Ceased work in 1910 when a sail was blew off and it was demolished in the early 1920's. Two sides of the base remain attached to the mill house. There were four paten sails, a domed cap with fantail, four pairs of stones, and other smaller machinery (S2). A earlier mill is recorded in 1783 (S3).
