Full Description

The first sugar beet factory in England was established at Lavenham in 1868 . It closed in in 1871 (S2) or 1877 (S2). The factory is visible on the first edition Ordnance Survey map and is noted as ‘Disused’ (S3). The site has since been built over with modern housing.
