Full Description
June 2015. Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty National Mapping Programme.
Three undated possible round barrows are visible as circular mound features on Lidar imagery on land to the east of Bromeswell Heath, north of Rendlesham Forest.
It was difficult to be certain about the nature of these features, since they were only clearly visible on one Lidar image (S1), and it is possible that they relate to mounds of vegetation, but they may also relate to a Bronze Age barrow cemetery. Further aerial reconnaissance or ground survey is recommended for this site to establish whether the features visible on the Lidar imagery are archaeological in nature, and whether they still survive on the ground.
E. Ford (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 18th June 2015.
