Summary

A ring ditch with probable internal mound and postholes is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs on land to the south of Blythburgh. It was considered most likely to be a post medieval windmill mound, although there is a small possibility that this feature could represent a Bronze Age round barrow.

January 2015. Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Beauty National Mapping Programme..
A ring ditch with probable internal mound and postholes is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1-S2) on land to the south of Blythburgh. It was considered most likely to be a post medieval windmill mound, although there is a small possibility that this feature could represent a Bronze Age round barrow.

2024:Geophysical survey identified a circular feature in the northern part of the survey. This location corresponds with cropmarks identified as a probable windmill mound previously identified on the Suffolk Historic Environment Record (S3).
