Full Description
September 2015. Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty National Mapping Programme.
Former earthworks of ditches, possibly representing medieval land divisions are visible on aerial photographs (S1) in woodland to the east of Butley Abbey. It is possible that they are related to features connected with Butley Abbey recorded to the east as SHER BUT 068, although they may also represent sections of post medieval drainage ditch. It is possible that some remnants of earthworks in this area are visible on photographs as recently as 2007 (S2), although it was not possible to identify these on Lidar images of the area (S3).
E. Ford (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 9th September 2015.
