Full Description

February 2015. Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Beauty National Mapping Programme.
Fragmentary ditches and possible bank features which may represent possible field boundaries are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1-S3) on land to the south of the Granary, Dunwich.
They are visible amongst a background of geological marks, hence it was difficult to be certain of the extent of the archaeological features, and the possible banks recorded in the centre of the field may in fact be ‘reversed’ cropmarks, and could in fact represent ditch features, it was difficult to tell from the available photography.
E. Ford (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 11th February 2015.
