Summary

A Second World War gun battery consisting of a number of emplacements was visible on aerial photographs on Lower Hollesley Common to the south of the training airfield SHER HLY 098. Two rectangular gun emplacements have also been recorded to the west (SHER HLY 097 and HLY 115).

October 2015. Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty National Mapping Programme.
A Second World War gun battery consisting of a number of emplacements was visible on aerial photographs (S1) on Lower Hollesley Common to the south of the training airfield SHER HLY 098. Two rectangular gun emplacements have also been recorded to the west (SHER HLY 097 and HLY 115).
