Full Description

Moat. Five sided, occupied, isolated (S1)(R1).

Martley Hall is basically as described; having been extensively modernised and added to; it is not outstanding. See ground
photograph. No trace and no local knowledge of an earlier house. Surrounding the house is a sub-square waterfilled moat, measuring
overall c 70.0 m NW-SE by c 65.0 m transversely. The arms average c 11.0 m in width.

Archaeological monitoring was cariied out at Martley Hall recording no finds or deposits of archaeological relevance being identified (S3).
