Full Description
Circular well observed after accidental discovery.
1.2m internal diameter. Depth unknown. Principally flint fabric, with rare small/thin red unfrogged bricks. Flint were large and nicely dressed with largely flush/flat inner faces. Competent work. Average size of flint c.0.2m squared. Coursed, but no formal bond. Soft pale brown sandy mortar.
Probably c. 17/18th century. Associated with cottage recorded in the location on an Enclosure map.
Reported by David Hedding. Was advised to backfill with inert material and make safe.
