Full Description

2015: Geophysical survey revealed a large extant depression located where 'pit' is drawn on cartographic sources. It was potentially used for the extraction of aggregate and then backfilled. Also a cluster of four thermoremnant responses which may be indicative of features that include bonfires, fire pits, hearths, kilns or furnaces. Seven positive linear features indicative of ditch type features provide evidence of an earlier phase of field boundary sub-division or enclosures (S1).
