Full Description

Moat, occupied, isolated, rectangular (R1).
Moated site forms quadrangular island 76m x 64m, surrounded by ditch 7m to 9m wide, approximately 1.2m deep. Causeway on E arm. Interior surface is raised up to 0.4m above external ground surface level. Moat is seasonally wet (S1).

A probable homestead moat, rectangular in shape, and measuring overall c80.0m E-W ny c95.0m N-S, with dry arms averaging c9.0m
in width and 1.2m deep. Part of the E arm has been filled in and part of the internal S arm mutilated. The extension to the N is a drainage ditch. The internal area is under close scrub and the structure shown on OS 25" has been demolished, but remaining brick footings appear modern (S3).
