Full Description

C.1996: A small gold ring brooch was found during metal detecting. The brooch measured 12mm in diameter and 18mm long to the tip of the projection. The projection is in form of two hands clasped as in prayer and may have once held a semi-precious stone. The outer frame is inscribed ‘AVVE’. Other examples of this type date to the late thirteenth or early fourteenth century (S1).
