Full Description
May 2015. Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty National Mapping Programme.
Soilmarks of possible field boundaries, a possible trackway and one possible ring ditch are visible on aerial photographs (S1)-(S3) on land to the south of Water Wood, Butley. The possible ring ditch was only visible on one photograph, which itself was not very successfully rectified due to a lack of control points, and the feature itself and its location must therefore be viewed with a hint of caution. It is likely that this ring ditch may in fact be a fungus ring, or a geological feature, and is not necessarily archaeological in nature.
E. Ford (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 6th May 2015.
