Summary

Possible medieval to post medieval earthwork banks and ditches are visible on aerial photographs to the north of Home Whin Farm, Sutton. They appear to respect the position of a barrow cemetery (SHER SUT 001), and it is possible that the most prominent ditch feature with associated bank may relate to a former route of the Sutton/Shottisham parish boundary.

October 2015. Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty National Mapping Programme.
Possible medieval to post medieval earthwork banks and ditches are visible on aerial photographs (S1)-(S7) to the north of Home Whin Farm, Sutton. They appear to respect the position of a barrow cemetery (SHER SUT 001), and it is possible that the most prominent ditch feature with associated bank (TM 328456) may relate to a former route of the Sutton/Shottisham parish boundary. It is also possible that this ditch may relate to drainage.
