Full Description

Possible site of windmill - field name 'Mill Close' in 1840 Tithe Apportionment, with 'Mill Field' adjoining on W side (S1). A post mill is known to have existed in Mendham built circa 1802, it was advertised for sale in 1805 (S2). The field was owned by a miller in 1840 but no mill is recorded as then existing (S1).
