Full Description
2011: 12th to 14th pit containing burnt stone and pottery. The pit is thought to be the remains of a simple clamp kiln. The feature was circular in plan and contained two distinct fills. The lower fill comprised of yellow and red, burnt clay with rounded stones with concentrations of charcoal. Pottery and a possible kiln bar were also found. The upper fill of the pit was distinct from the lower fill consisting of mid brown silt with no inclusions (S1).
