Full Description

Monitoring of groundworks for the conversion of a former commercial works to residential use, including the demolition of a dilapidated workshop, revealed later Post medieval brick, pipe and tile debris to a depth of between 1100mm to 2000mm from production of these items in this area which has extensive evidence of clay extraction for these products. The development area examined indicated that quarrying work had covered this site and no evidence was revealed for activity of pre-Post medieval date.
