January 2019. 'Brecks from Above' and Breckland National Mapping Programme.
A group of three small, broadly rectilinear mounds, of unknown date and function, is visible as earthworks on imagery from a 2015 lidar survey (S1). The mounds lie within Elveden Warren (SHER ELV 039) and it is possible that they are related to post medieval warrening activity (the warren was not established until the early 17th century). Alternatively, they could be of more recent date, perhaps associated with 20th century military activity in the area, or with forestry. As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently, it is likely that the earthworks still survive.
