Monument record ELV 133 - Undated, possibly post medieval bank

Please read our .

Summary

A bank, of unknown but possible post medieval date, is visible as an earthwork on imagery from a 2015 lidar survey. It lies outside of, but broadly parallel to, the eastern boundary of Elveden Warren (SHER ELV 039), and may therefore be of similar, probably post medieval, date. As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently, it is probable that the earthwork still survives.

Full Description

January 2019. 'Brecks from Above' and Breckland National Mapping Programme.
A bank, of unknown but possible post medieval date, is visible as an earthwork on imagery from a 2015 lidar survey (S1). It lies outside of, but broadly parallel to, the eastern boundary of Elveden Warren (SHER ELV 039), and may therefore be of similar, probably post medieval, date. It appears to be overlain by the butts belonging to a 20th century rifle range (SHER ELV 041). As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently, it is probable that the earthwork still survives.
