Monument record WNG 059 - Undated mound, possibly a prehistoric burial mound but could instead be of natural origin

Please read our .

Summary

An undated mound, possibly a Neolithic or Bronze Age burial mound but perhaps instead of natural origin, is visible as an earthwork on imagery from a 2015 lidar survey. It is one of two mounds situated adjacent to each other (the other is recorded as SHER WNG 058). It is clear from the lidar that they lie on the northern edge of an extensive area of very uneven ground, and a natural, geomorphological origin for both mounds is a strong possibility. As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently, it is likely that the earthworks still survive.
