Full Description

2014: A grade II listed timber framed building or late 16th to early 17th century date. Initially split into 3 dwellings and later combined. The 1st floor exterior retains patches of what is presumed to be 17th century pargetting, likely to be original pargetting. The arrangement of the building is of a domestic or farmhouse plan. The building is arranged as a status east cell with parlour (now kitchen) and chamber above each heated with fireplaces; to the west a large brick chimney stack with a winding staircase and landing in front, to the front of the property, and what may have been a closet behind to the rear; next west a large midcell forming the Family Hall on the ground floor with room above now divided); to its west a wide crosspassage on the ground floor with a narrow room above and to the westend of the building a narrow room on the ground floor (perhaps a service room) plus a narrow room above. From the evidence of the visit the plan of the building would appear to relate to a post-medieval planform. (S1)
