Full Description

Excavation in advance of a retail development identified a 19th century brick well and a roughly rectangualr pit of a similar date. There was no evidence of any significant truncation or disturbance of the natural subsoil and the absence of eariler evidence in an area of probable medieval and post-medieval activity suggests that the site formerly lay within an open area land, until it was encroached on by development in the mid-18th century (S1).
