Monument record ELV 124 - Soilmarks of possible ridge and furrow

Please read our .

Summary

The faint soilmarks of possible ridge and furrow were visible on aerial photographs. The ridges appear to be associated with boundaries recorded under ELV 120. Excavations suggest that at least some of these boundaries date to the Roman period, although a medieval to post medieval date is also possible for some elements, in particular those appearing to have associated ridge and furrow features. See record for discussion.
